Parent Association

As parents and educators at P.S. 133, we all share one goal: to advocate for our children and ensure they get the educational experience they deserve. Our parent association supports us in maintaining a welcoming, safe, and fun environment where all children can succeed. Everyone has a role to play in the equation:

Parental Involvement + School Involvement = Student Success

Vision

We work closely with the school administration to address school needs and volunteer our time to achieve better results. The Parent Association (PA) plays an important role in the school community and encourages all parents to support and volunteer to keep the PA strong and our voice amplified.

Additionally, the PA helps financially support school activities and parent workshops through fundraising and parent volunteerism. We seek partnering opportunities within the community and attend grant writing workshops to help with school funding of child activities and improvement of the school curriculum.

Mission

  • BUILD a strong culture of parent and teacher engagement. Both parents and teachers play an important role in children’s lives and education. By working together, we will close learning gaps and build a positive learning environment for our children, ultimately leading to educational success.
  • KEEP communication channels open between school and parents through notices sent home, emails, phone calls, or other communication about children’s progress, events, or school updates.
  • HELP keep the circle of support open by appointing a parent as liaison to connect parents to the school.
  • CONTINUE advocating for educational intervention for children that may need more support in a targeted area.

Your Voice Matters

We encourage all parents and guardians to attend our monthly meetings. By attending meetings, you’ll always be informed on all school updates, calendar events, and resources. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet other parents and share ideas and/or concerns.
